Muhimbili National Hospital, Dar Es Salaam

Since 2014, Pediatric Health Initiative collaborates with colleagues at Muhimbili National Hospital in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. MNH is one of Tanzania's largest university hospitals with 1500 beds. Up to 200 newborns are cared for in the neonatal ward, that is staffed by experienced pediatricians, neonatologists and nurses.

The PHI/MNH collaboration nowaims to support the development of neonatal care and achieve better neonatal outcomes at MNH, in Dar es Salaam and, in the longer perspective, Tanzania as a whole. The partnership is based on evidence that professional exchange and joint improvement projects between low and high-income countries can contribute to increased quality of care
